The event titled ‘Mobility as a Service – don’t hesitate to cooperate!’ which is an event series organized by MHP Lab ( a porsche Company )(www.mhp.com/de/first-tuesday) gave the PROJEKTIONISTEN GmbH under their mobility brand 1KLANG (www.1klang.mobi) the opportunity to present their take on the mobility challenges cities are facing in the coming years.
As part of the pitch deck presentation as well as during the podium discussion we were able to also present our project Data4UrbanMobility.
Allowing the public a deeper insight into the current focus of the ongoing research as well as answering questions concerning mobility sector research in general.
Presented were also different aspects of the Urban Mobility Assistance ( UMA ) (www.urbanmobilityassistance.de)portfolio.
Which are apps developed by the Wolfsburg AG in conjunction with 1Klang.
Inside the presented applications the results surrounding incentivization and community features from the D4UM Project had been integrated.
Following that part of the presentation, the mobility app D4UM could be shown, which offers travel information, events and other useful features for the end user.
The MiC app (Move in the City) was also presented, which is a Citizen Science project that will provide further tracking data to the D4UM project. Among all the fruitful discussions was one which resulted in the possible collaboration with the Finnish company MOPRIM (www.moprim.com)

  Abstract Observation-based estimates of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) and meridional heat transport (MHT) are necessary to better understand their evolution in the coming years. The RAPID-MOCHA-WBTS array at 26°N is the only trans-Atlantic observing system to provide 20+ years of continuous measurements of the AMOC and MHT. While the design of the array has continuously evolved as our understanding of the AMOC has advanced, and as new technologies have become available, a new goal is to design a lower-cost and more sustainable observing system to continue AMOC estimations with high accuracy. Using the RAPID array data and ocean reanalyzes, we evaluate the error in the AMOC estimate due to the choice of data included in its calculation. We find that the trend and variability of the volume transport in the upper 3,000-m of the water column are not captured with sufficient accuracy by synoptic hydrographic data or ocean reanalyzes. However, moorings in the deep ocean interior along the eastern boundary and the Mid-Atlantic ridge can be replaced by hydrographic data from repeat trans-Atlantic hydrographic sections to reliably estimate the AMOC trend and variability. Experiments simulating the observing system in a high-resolution ocean model further show that the additional error in the long-term AMOC estimate induced by the substitution of mooring measurements below 3,000-m depth at these locations is small (0.30 Sv) as compared to the AMOC uncertainty.

  Light-matter interactions modify both the intensity and polarization state of light. Changes in polarization, represented by a Mueller matrix, encode detailed scene information. Existing optical ellipsometers capture Mueller-matrix images; however, they are often limited to capturing static scenes due to long acquisition times. Here, we introduce Event Ellipsometer, a method for acquiring a Mueller-matrix video for dynamic scenes. Our imaging system employs fast-rotating quarter-wave plates (QWPs) in front of a light source and an event camera that asynchronously captures intensity changes induced by the rotating QWPs. We develop an ellipsometric-event image formation model, a calibration method, and an ellipsometric-event reconstruction method. We experimentally demonstrate that Event Ellipsometer enables Mueller-matrix video imaging at 30fps, extending ellipsometry to dynamic scenes.

  With the diversification of human-object interaction (HOI) applications and the success of capturing human meshes, HOI reconstruction has gained widespread attention. Existing mainstream HOI reconstruction methods often rely on explicitly modeling interactions between humans and objects. However, such a way leads to a natural conflict between 3D mesh reconstruction, which emphasizes global structure, and fine-grained contact reconstruction, which focuses on local details. To address the limitations of explicit modeling, we propose the End-to-End HOI Reconstruction Transformer with Graph-based Encoding (HOI-TG). It implicitly learns the interaction between humans and objects by leveraging self-attention mechanisms. Within the transformer architecture, we devise graph residual blocks to aggregate the topology among vertices of different spatial structures. This dual focus effectively balances global and local representations. Without bells and whistles, HOI-TG achieves state-of-the-art performance on BEHAVE and InterCap datasets. Particularly on the challenging InterCap dataset, our method improves the reconstruction results for human and object meshes by 8.9% and 8.6%, respectively.

  Bats are one of the most widespread, species-rich, ecologically and morphologically diverse mammal lineages, and the only mammals capable of powered flight. Due to their evolution within the constraints of a mammalian template, bats represent an important and unique system in which to investigate the factors and mechanisms associated with mammalian phenotypic evolution and diversification. Here we review key traits and functions associated with bat diversification: powered flight, specialized senses, diverse diets, and exceptional longevity and immunity. We also highlight the roles of bats in driving the evolution of other species and their importance to global ecosystems. We integrate information across the fields of paleontology, developmental biology, functional morphology, biomechanics, genomics, physiology, and ecology to piece together the complex processes underlying bat evolution and diversification.

  Abstract Negatively charged boron vacancies (\($\mathrmV_B^-$\)) in hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) are emerging as promising solid-state spin qubits due to their optical accessibility, structural simplicity, and compatibility with photonic platforms. However, quantifying the density of such defects in thin hBN flakes has remained elusive, limiting progress in device integration and reproducibility. Here, an all-optical method is presented to quantify \($\mathrmV_B^-$\) defect density in hBN by correlating Raman and photoluminescence (PL) signatures with irradiation fluence. Two defect-induced Raman modes, D1 and D2, are identified and assigned them to vibrational modes of \($\mathrmV_B^-$\) using polarization-resolved Raman measurements and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. By adapting a numerical model originally developed for graphene, an empirical relationship linking Raman (D1, E2g) and PL intensities is established to absolute defect densities. This method is universally applicable across various irradiation types and uniquely suited for thin flakes, where conventional techniques fail. The approach enables accurate, direct, and non-destructive quantification of spin defect densities down to 1015?defects/cm3, offering a powerful tool for optimizing and benchmarking hBN for quantum optical applications.

  Datacenters consume a growing share of energy, prompting the need for sustainable resource management. This paper presents a Hybrid ACO–PSO (HAPSO) algorithm for energy-aware virtual machine (VM) placement and migration in green cloud datacenters. In the first stage, Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) performs energy-efficient initial placement across physical hosts, ensuring global feasibility. In the second stage, a discrete Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) refines allocations by migrating VMs from overloaded or underutilized hosts. HAPSO introduces several innovations: sequential hybridization of metaheuristics, system-informed particle initialization using ACO output, heuristic-guided discretization for constraint handling, and a multi-objective fitness function that minimizes active servers and resource wastage. Implemented in CloudSimPlus, extensive simulations demonstrate that HAPSO consistently outperforms classical heuristics (BFD, FFD), Unified Ant Colony System (UACS), and ACO-only. Notably, HAPSO achieves up to 25% lower energy consumption and 18% fewer SLA violations compared to UACS at largescale workloads, while sustaining stable cost and carbon emissions. These results highlight the effectiveness of two-stage bio-inspired hybridization in addressing the dynamic and multi-objective nature of cloud resource management.

  The principal organization of mammalian neuromuscular junctions (NMJs) shares essential features across species. However, human NMJs (hNMJs) exhibit distinct structural and physiological properties. While recent advances in stem-cell-based systems have significantly improved in vitro modeling of hNMJs, the extent to which these models recapitulate in vivo development remains unclear. Here, we performed temporal transcriptomic analysis of human three-dimensional (3D) neuromuscular co-cultures, composed of iPSC-derived motoneurons and skeletal muscle engineered from primary myoblasts. We found that the expression pattern follows a temporally coordinated gene expression program underlying NMJ maturation. The model recapitulates transcriptional features of NMJ development, including early myoblast fusion and presynaptic development, followed by a late-stage upregulation of postsynaptic markers and embryonic AChR subunits. Importantly, comparable transcriptional dynamics across two independent hiPSC lines confirm the reproducibility and robustness of this system. This study confirms on a transcriptional level that human 3D neuromuscular co-cultures are a robust and physiologically relevant model for investigating hNMJ development and function.

  This paper presents the results of a study investigating the impact of a focus- and attention-based learning intervention on the ability of higher education students to concentrate in several dimensions. The intervention, which was implemented with four bachelor classes at a Swiss university, combined instructional materials, a playbook, and reflection practices. An action research approach was used to collect quantitative data through pre- and post-semester surveys and qualitative insights through structured focus interviews. Results showed significant improvements in students’ concentration, reduced fear of missing out, and decreased dependence on smartphones. Students reported increased self-awareness and perceived benefits to their academic and personal lives. The study highlights the potential of targeted interventions to address the attention crisis in digitalized learning environments and underlines the need for interdisciplinary research and institutional dialogue to promote media literacy and self-regulation in higher education.

  Significance. Healthy life expectancy is a group of indicators that allows to estimate how long a person will live with “good” health given the current level of mortality and health of the population. The relevance of the calculation and assessment of healthy life expectancy is conditioned, among other things, by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated 07.05.2024 N 309 “On the national development goals of the Russian Federation for the period until 2030 and prospects until 2036” - by 2030, it is planned to achieve “outpacing growth of healthy life expectancy indicators”, i.e. to reduce the difference between healthy life expectancy and life expectancy. The purpose of the study is to review the methods of calculating healthy life expectancy, sources of data on healthy life expectancy in Russia and the world, and a brief analysis of the dynamics in healthy life expectancy in Russia. Material and Methods. Literature sources and databases were studied to analyze the calculation methods and existing estimates of healthy life expectancy. Literature sources were searched in PubMed and eLibrary databases, and data - on the websites of the World Health Organization, Global Burden of Disease, Eurostat, “Unified Interdepartmental Information and Statistical System”. Results. One of the two main methods is usually chosen to estimate healthy life expectancy: the widely used Sullivan formula (cross-sectional analysis) and the less frequently used multistatus table method (longitudinal analysis). There are also various methods of defining “good” health: self-rated health or presence or absence of limitations or diseases. From 1990 to 2019, healthy life expectancy increased globally and in Russia; in Russia, there was a decline in healthy life expectancy during the Covid-19 pandemic, followed by a steady recovery afterwards. Conclusion. Healthy life expectancy in research and in public administration has not been as widely used as life expectancy, which is probably a consequence of the peculiarities of the methodology for calculating the indicator and its sensitivity not only to the objective parameter of mortality. However, being an integral indicator, healthy life expectancy can provide information on the “quality” of life expectancy growth.

  The objective of the research is to examine the attitude difference between urban and rural school adolescents towards lesbian and gay individuals in Thimphu. There were 240 participants in the study, with 120 from urban schools and 120 from rural schools. The study adopted a stratified random sampling method. To gather data, structured self-administered survey questionnaires in hardcopy have been distributed to all identified respondents. The instrument used a five-point Likert scale to assess the attitude of students towards lesbians and gays. The findings revealed a significant difference in attitude between urban and rural adolescents towards lesbian and gay individuals, with urban participants demonstrating a higher level of acceptance compared to their rural counterparts. The findings show a statistically significant difference in attitudes, with urban respondents scoring slightly higher (M = 3.86, SD = 0.18) than rural respondents (M = 3.78, SD = 0.17), t(238) = 3.496, p = 0.01, CI [0.04, 0.13]. The effect size was modest (d = 0.45), indicating a slightly more positive attitude among urban students. This highlights geographical disparity in attitudes toward lesbian and gay individuals among adolescents.

  Automation of vehicles will substantially change traffic and especially public transport as we know it. Ongoing implementations of test runs with self-driving vehicles offer the opportunity to assess future demand on this matter. Associated with the introduction of a self-driving bus service fully integrated into the local transport schedule on the Rhine Falls in Switzerland, we carried out a close to reality survey experiment. Making use of this example, we conducted a stated mode choice experiment drawn from a random sample in 2018. This stated choice survey aims to answer the question of willingness to pay and willingness to use self-driving bus services by making use of a realistic setting that provides high external validity. Respondents can choose among rental bike, walking and a self-driving bus service with varying costs, travel time, occupation and weather situations. By the inclusion of attitudinal questions regarding technology commitment into an integrated latent variable and choice model, we test how technology related attitudes of respondents explain their anticipated behaviour and whether individuals trade off technological scepticism with potential benefits. Results indicate that technology acceptance is a robust indicator for predicting self-driving bus usage, but that there is no interaction between technology commitment and time nor price.

  The Simi-structure Extensible Markup Language (XML) databases become more popular and more efficient to exchange data and information. Although traditional models such as relational database a long time ago still widely used in most of databases sectors, the XML is more flexible and easy for exchange and share data. Consequently, this paper proposes a middleware relational storage for converting between XML and relational databases, the technique uses path-based relational storage approach and XML Document Object (DOM) Model, a middleware relational storage is developed to store XML tree structures and relation tables after reengineering. Likewise, the technique applies 1-index method to reduce size of the stored data. Moreover, the paper conducts a series of experiments to evaluate the performance of the proposed technique.

  We demonstrate how a five dimensional Godel universe appears as the core of resolved two-charge and three-charge over-rotating BMPV black holes. A smeared generalized supertube acts as a domain wall and removes regions of closed timelike curves by cutting off both the inside and outside solution before causality violations appear, effectively allowing the Godel universe and the over-rotating black hole to solve each other's causality problems. This mechanism suggests a novel form of holography between the compact Godel region and the diverse vacua and excitations of the bound state of a finite number of D0 and D4-branes with fundamental strings.
