DESIGN YOUR OWN CITY
ISU together with partners develops innovative research and participation application for the Future City By launching the MiC App at the TU Night 2018, the Institute for Sustainable Urbanism ISU in cooperation with 1KLANG® – a brand of PROJEKTIONISTEN® GmbH has reached a milestone in the joint research and development of the mobility of the future. MiC is a new tool for collecting data from citizens who can make it available for mobility research. MiC links the growing awareness and necessity for digital citizen rights with the potentials to enable new forms of human-centered development of cities and mobility by evaluating large amounts of data. MiC is a result of research in the context of the joint project “Data4UrbanMobility” – funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research BMBF. Further information is available at www.data4urbanmobility.org. Everyone is an explorer who can discover and change the world together with us. The City of the Future is characterised by low-barrier access to mobility and accessibility for all. The holistic approach of Data4UrbanMobility looks at the city on different scales and brings together intelligent planning – such as the 5-minute city -, urban development and innovative technologies. For a comprehensive understanding of individual mobility and new methods and tools for integrated traffic and urban planning based on it, we lack comprehensive and detailed data on how and by which means we move around the city. With the mobile application MiC we would like to invite everyone to actively participate in the research and development of mobility for all in the city of the future as a citizen scientist. MiC collects – controlled by the users – data on routes and type of locomotion. This data is pseudonymised so that it is no longer possible to draw conclusions about the respective person. What is important is the large number of users – not the individual movement. With MiC, everyone has the opportunity to change their own city. To become part of the test group, inform yourself and register under: www.mic-app.org. Your data – your decision – your city!
